About the Blog

Well hello there! Welcome to the blog!

First thing's first, my name is Liam. I'm the sole writer for this site, and I've been at this for quite some time now. Over the years, my writing has evolved a lot, and you may find some of the older reviews lacking the same level of polish that you can expect out of my new ones. However, a few things haven't changed.

I always do my best to disclose my biases
We're biased. We always are, no matter what we do to try to hide it or make it go away. That's why I always try to disclose when I hold certain biases about the games I'm reviewing. In the end, this is all my opinion. I just hope it helps you out. With that being said, I seriously enjoy most RPG's, though MMO's don't really click with me, and I grew up on shooters and platformers. You won't see many, if any, proper horror games reviewed on here, but horror-action is my guilty pleasure. And I'm an avid Souls-borne player, so there's that. Oh, and I like the Warriors games. There, precedent set.

I review on a 1-10 scale
There are a lot of people out there that seem to think that a 5/10 is a horrendous review, but I use the full scale when reviewing my games. Here, anything below a 3/10 is horrendous, 4-6 is mediocre, and 7 and up are generally worth your time and monetary investment. The 10/10 is reserved for only the absolute pinnacle of games, and I will still award it from time to time even if the game is flawed. And the 11/10 will likely never happen. But I'll keep looking.

Nothing is flawless
Just because I criticize a game doesn't mean I didn't like it or didn't enjoy myself while playing. But different people will have different things that bother them, so I always try to remain critical of even my favorite games. That way, things should remain as balanced as possible. And as stated above, I will award the 10/10 even if the game isn't completely flawless, usually because the game does everything else so well that I thought it was genuinely worth overlooking the flaws that are there.

I speak my mind here
I don't work for anybody, and I'm not paid to do this. I'm doing this because I enjoy it. So here, you're getting an unfiltered criticism with every review. I don't sugar-coat, I don't forgive, and I absolutely don't care if my stronger opinions invite derision. I will always strive to give my best, unfettered critiques of games, popular or not.
